Clarity | Campaign Dashboard

Designing Clarity, a co-op software for tracking performance and campaign metrics of dealers nationwide.

Clarity, a co-op dashboard to help automotive dealers track performance and campaign metrics across the nation.

The goal of Clarity is to provide businesses with a user-friendly platform to monitor and optimize dealer participation, effectiveness, and ROI for co-op marketing programs.

Challenges

To create a platform that enhances the navigation of data and encourage action to improve dealer performance.

  • Data visualization — presenting large sets of data and metrics in a digestible and intuitive format
  • User-centered design — ensuring ease of use for varying users, from marketing agencies to OEMs
  • Customization — tailoring dashboards to focus on metrics most important to unique needs across use cases

What we did in this project

We are delivering performance metrics to OEMs, offering 'Clarity' into the data and insights that agencies already possess.

By contextualizing user needs through user interviews (OEM and agency parties), our team was able to define user groups and create workflows to inform the dashboard’s UI design.

The three user groups of Clarity would be dealerships, vendors, and OEMs—each with varying permissions and goals for using the platform. In partnership with frontend and backend developers, we created a working product comparable to existing co-op programs.

Our main priorities revolved around improving campaign approval and claim submission processes. Beyond these, several key considerations were identified to improve the user experience:

  • Streamlined performance tracking — to track campaigns and performance we had to leverage visuals to communicate budgets, ROI, and conversion while maintaining a tool for comparative analysis
  • Managing information overload — dealers work with complex data sets and need to see overarching insights in a concise manner without feeling overwhelmed with data
  • Access to core functionality — ensuring quick and intuitive access to critical features for users, allowing them to efficiently navigate and complete essential tasks
“No one [OEMs] has ever asked the question of how money is performing. However, I have had conversations where OEMs show interest in how the money is performing."

Moving Forward

Clarity has received positive feedback from stakeholders at a few major car manufacturers, recognized for its potential to streamline dealer performance tracking and co-op marketing management.

Takeaways

  • Turning organizational challenges into product refinement — due to internal political conflicts, there has been difficulty securing client buy-in. However, we have been able to leverage feedback gathered to refine and strengthen our product
  • Building for scalability — throughout multiple RFPs our MVP allowed our team to see future enhancements and adoptions across other markets
  • Adapting to AI integration — seeing the use of AI evolved had encouraged our team to explore integrating an AI-driven claim evaluation in the platform
